Trading, Smuggling, Privateering & British Assaults in summer 1814

July 11, 1814

On this day, 197 years ago, a British fleet sailed into Passamaquoddy Bay and captured Fort Sullivan on Moose Island, and thus Eastport, Maine, which the British would go on to hold for another 4 years.
